With 39 tackles, two sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown, and leading all rookies with nine passes defensed, Witherspoon is putting up numbers that demand attention.

Slightly ahead in the race for Defensive Rookie of the Year is the impressive Jalen Carter. Bleacher Report has given Carter a solid A-grade, acknowledging his four sacks and an outstanding 25 pressures, surpassing any other rookie defensive tackle in their first five games during the Next Gen era.
